CAROLYN RONDTHALER: MULTIMEDIA ARTIST

Carolyn Rondthaler is a Portland Oregon artist painting in plein air, in her home studio, and with other artists.  She paints primarily in watercolor, but also in gouache and acrylic.  She also makes collages and mixes media gleefully.

She has enjoyed making art throughout her life, and her earliest memories are of crayons, construction paper, and the scent of glue.

Her subject matter is not limited, nor is her style.  She enjoys both abstract and representational work.

She has received several awards, including a "Best of Show" in Ogden, Utah.  Other ribbons have been for works shown with the Palette Club of Ogden, Trail's End Art Association in Gearhart, Oregon, and the Oregon Society of Artists.

She is an active member of Portland Plein Air and Studio Painters, Trail's End Art Association, and Oregon Society of Artists.  Her community work includes "Artists Against Hunger" with the Beaverton Arts Commission.

Her work is in collections in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Washington, DC, and Delaware.

She has studied with Dory Kantor, Sue Jensen, Donna O. Kearney, Adrian Van Suchtelen, Gene Gill, Arne Westerman, Michael Friegang, Jo Pomeroy-Crockett, Eric Weigardt, John Maslen, Kitty Wallis, and Ted Nuttall.
